Local Charities We Support
At Valdosta Comic Convention (VCC), our mission goes beyond celebrating fandom. We’re committed to strengthening the community we call home. Each year, VCC partners with local organizations whose work directly improves lives across South Georgia. We’re proud to support LifeSouth Community Blood Centers and Second Harvest of South Georgia, two charities making a real difference every day.
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers
LifeSouth will be onsite at VCC with their Blood Mobile, giving attendees the opportunity to make a lifesaving impact right at the event. Donating blood is one of the most direct ways to help patients in local hospitals who rely on blood products during emergencies, surgeries, and long-term treatments.
Special Donor Perks at VCC:
All donors will receive a special LifeSouth donor T‑shirt. Attendees who donate Red Blood Cells, plasma, or platelets at the Blood Mobile will receive a $40 e‑gift card as a thank‑you for giving a lifesaving donation. Your donation stays local and supports patients right here in our community.
Second Harvest of South Georgia
Second Harvest is the leading hunger-relief organization in our area, distributing millions of pounds of food each year to families, children, and seniors facing food insecurity. Their programs support schools, shelters, and community centers across South Georgia.
VCC attendees who bring a non‑perishable food donation for Second Harvest will receive $5 off their ticket entry at the door. It’s a simple way to make a big difference and a great opportunity to join us in supporting our community.
